I met Kevin when there was a post in the paper asking for volunteers to repair and paint the white fence that leads into Long Valley. That was probably 10 years ago already. I was amazed at how he was so hands on, and wasn’t afraid to do whatever was needed to get the job done. He was able to pull the community together to help each other and do it all without going to the town for funds. I joked with him after seeing that he was covered in white paint by the end of the day asking if “any made it on the fence”. He's been a friend ever since, and I've always been there to help when he needs a good pair of hands. From cleaning the brook of trees after Katrina so our neighbors’ houses wouldn’t flood when it rained to smiles and hand shakes on Sundays, Kevin was always upbeat and always left me smiling. I will really miss him, and my condolences go to his family.
