Mark J. Kafafian, of Long Valley, formerly of Toms River, passed away on January 23, 2010. Mark was born in 1964 to Kathleen (Brook) and Leon in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was the youngest of three children and a Certified Public Accountant by profession, receiving his accounting degree from Georgian Court University in South Jersey. It was while attending Georgian Court that he met Audrey Geer, his beloved wife of 21 years.
Mark began his accounting career in South Jersey, later relocating to Long Valley to form the partnership of Frizzell and Kafafian in Newton, which eventually became Frizzell, Kafafian, and Devries. Mark provided a wide range of services to a growing client base over the years, and was highly regarded not only for his professionalism and expertise but also for his integrity and compassion. Mark was often sought out by members of his community for advice and guidance, and he graciously gave of himself to all. The many people who had the good fortune to call him friend attest to his big heart, gentle spirit, and fun-loving nature.
Mark was first and foremost a loving, committed husband and dedicated father who made the care of his family his highest priority. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey; his three children, Mark, Matthew, and Katelyn; his brothers Leon and Martin and their spouses Helena and Patricia; and by loving nieces and nephews.
