Winifred S. Leber (nee: Sweeney), 95, of Union City, passed away on January 13, 2012. Born in Jersey City, she was a long time resident of Union City. Winifred was the supporting partner with her husband, Harry, in the Leber Funeral Home, Union City. Beloved wife of the late Harry, she was the devoted mother of Jack and wife Barbara, Bill and wife Kathleen, Bob and wife Maureen, Dan and wife Ardith and Jim and wife Joanne. Dear sister of the late Margaret Seaman, late Jack Sweeney, late Dorothy Hayes, late Thomas Sweeney, late Kathleen Beronio, late Rosemary Flynn, and late William. Winifred is survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Winifred's special caregivers, Maria, Rose, Cleo, Milly and Ramona.

She had a special devotion as a benefactor to the Passionist Missions, St. Lawrence Church and the Capuchin Friars.

The Funeral will be on Wednesday, 9:30 AM from Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City; then to St. Lawrence Church, Weehawken, for the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ. The family will receive their friends on Monday, 2-5 PM and on Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests Memorial Gifts to a favorite charity of your choice.
