Edward E. Sutton, 85, of Naples, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in Morristown. Edward was born on October 14, 1926 in Paterson, NJ. He has lived in Naples for the past 20 years and was previously from Morris Township, NJ. Edward received his BS from Tufts University. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. Edward was a retired Executive of the New York Telephone Co., AT&T and New Jersey Bell.
Edward loved people, an attribute even reflected in his professional career where he was a pioneer and leader in employee development and training in the former Bell Telephone system. Edward also was an active leader in his Naples community association, previously serving as board chairman and committee head. His life revolved completely around his family, particularly his grandchildren and their many activities. He traveled far and wide to attend their athletic events. Additionally, Edward was an avid and exceptional golfer who taught many family members the game.
Edward is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Kay (Murray) Sutton; his children Edward Andrew Sutton and wife Sophia; BethAnn Robertiello and husband Jim, and Douglas David Sutton and wife Judy; and 6 grandchildren: Jim, Alexa, Justin, Ian, Sarah, and Rudy. He is predeceased by his father and mother, John Edward and Edith York Sutton.
A 10am funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Grace Bible Chapel in Chester, NJ. The final interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA. 02241-7005.
