Frank P. Panek, 85, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Frank was born on December 10, 1931 in Perth Amboy, NJ. He has lived in Long Valley for the past 50 years and previously lived in Matawan, NJ. Frank was a Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a retired field engineer for Chevron and retired as the Building and Construction Code Official for Chester Township, NJ.
Frank loved the outdoors. He enjoyed sailing, kayaking, trap shooting, biking and hiking. He was forever a Boy Scout, and lived by their motto his entire life. Frank also will be remembered as a good Samaritan. He was an affectionate B-Buster. Frank was an animal lover.
Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene Panek, his son, Glen Panek and wife Janice Leswing, his daughter, Kim Frances and husband Robert Delserro, and his sister, Agnes Connors and husband John.
A Celebration of Frank's Life will include a memorial gathering on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 11am to 12pm followed by a 12pm memorial service at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. Frank's final interment will be held privately.
