F. Elizabeth "Liz" Jacobs

F. Elizabeth Jacobs, 92, of Verona, NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 peacefully at home. Liz was born on August 26, 1925 in Danville, PA and lived most of her life in Cold Spring Harbor, NY. She has lived in Verona since 2012 and previously was a 25-year resident of Summit, NJ.

Liz was a strikingly beautiful woman who won the regional beauty pageant in her late teens hosted in Hershey, PA. She was later offered an opportunity to model in New York City. Additionally, she was a member of the soprano section of the Pennsylvania Chorale group. Liz was a graduate of a two-year secretarial program in Easton, PA. She worked for many years as a Senior Sales Associate and later was promoted to window design at Barnaby's LTD, a women's boutique in Cold Spring Harbor.

Liz was a devout woman of prayer and put prayer before anything else. She was an avid reader. Liz was an amazing cook, baker, and decorator. Liz was brave; learning to drive and swim in her 40's. She loved being outdoors, especially gardening and walking. Liz loved taking trips to beaches on the New Jersey shore with her husband Charles. She was the perfect grandmother and took incredible care of her grandsons.

Liz is survived by her daughters, Susan Cahill and Melissa Carroll, her grandsons, Brendan Carroll and wife Jessica and Taylor Carroll and fiancé Kaelyn, her great grandson, Parker, her sisters, Mary Louis Livingston, Anna Mae Henry, and Diane Henry, her nephew, David Livingston and wife Joanne, and her niece, Janet Karczewski and husband Tim. She was predeceased by her husband in 2013, Charles Jacobs, and her sisters, Ruth Henry and Catherine Henry.

A Celebration of Liz's Life will include a visitation from 5pm to 8pm on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 9:30am funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at Full Gospel Church, 190 W Northfield Rd, Livingston, NJ 07039. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
