Michelen (De Frabrizio) Mascia, 97, of Jupiter, FL, formerly of Verona, NJ, passed away on April 1, 2018. Michelen was born in Newark, NJ on April 13, 1920 to the late Thomas De Fabrizio and Mary (De Perty) De Fabrizio. Michelen graduated from Barringer High School and received her bachelor of arts from Douglas College and Rutgers University. She was a retired High School Teacher who taught five subjects during her time at Verona and West Essex High Schools. Michelen loved traveling around the world and learned to play golf at age 75. Her passion in life was her loving family.
She is survived by her two devoted children, Dr. Vincent E. Mascia, Valerie D. Verona and husband Dr. Paul Verona; two grandchildren, Paul and Dana, sisters; Mary Percario and Rose Centanni. Michelen was predeceased by her beloved husband the Honorable Emil E. Mascia in 2009.
Michelen's Life Celebration will include a funeral mass at 10:00AM on Saturday April 7, 2018 at St. Brigid RC Church in Peapack, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
