Obituary of Rose Bernhard
Rose L. Bernhard (nee Lobosco), 85, of Flanders, NJ, passed away on October 24, 2017, at home. Rose was born on November 22, 1931, in Paterson, NJ, and lived there her entire life until 13 years ago when she moved to Flanders, NJ, to be near her daughter, Mary.
Rose loved playing games, especially Dominoes, cards, crossword puzzles, and board games. She enjoyed knitting and other crafts which she shared with her family. Rose liked to go out to the movies and socializing with her family and friends. She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Jude's Church and the Mount Olive Seniors Club.
Preceded in death by her husband, Anton Bernhard and granddaughter Alyssa Schmidt Bernhard. She is survived by her children, Olga Firstbrook and husband, George, Tony Bernhard and wife, Jennifer, Mary Lalama and husband, Joe Nicastro, Angelo Bernhard, Susan Schmidt, grandchildren, Frank Saya, Thomas Firstbrook, Kearstin Tripi, Bethany Firstbrook, Michael Lalama, and Andrew Bernhard, great grandchildren, Elias and Nate Firstbrook, sisters, Lucy Semeraro and Mary Zanfino, brother, Joseph Lobosco, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Rose's Life will include a visitation on Friday, October 27, 2017, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 10am funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28th at St. Jude's Church in Budd Lake, NJ. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at https://giving.mskcc.org/.
