Obituary of Roy Menton

Roy Earl Menton, 60, of Scurry, TX passed away on June 30, 2017. Roy was born on November 6, 1956 in Paterson, NJ to the late John and Alice (Pitcher) Menton. He graduated from Cook College in 1979 and later started his own business, HomeMentum Professional Home Inspectors, PLLC, based out of Texas. Roy was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Kaufman, TX, 3rd degree Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11721 – Kaufman, TX. He enjoyed traveling, sailing, and loved helping others. He volunteered at the Kaufman County American Red Cross. Roy was part of the founding team of volunteers of both the NYC and the Rochester, NY, FIRST Robotics competitions for the past 17 years. He was an avid supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Roy’s greatest passion in life was his family, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Maureen (Vaillancourt) Menton; two children, Michelle (Menton) Bolson and husband Jacob, and James Roy Menton and wife Nicole (Gerber) Menton; three grandchildren, Logan, Ryker, and Marc Bolson; two sisters, Alice Walker and husband Norman, and Rose Menton, and by many other loving family members and friends. 

Roy’s Life Celebration will include a Memorial Visitation on Sunday July 9, 2017 from 2PM – 5PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road (corner of rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday July 10, 2017 at 10:30AM at St. Lawrence RC Church in Chester, NJ. Interment will be held privately by the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Roy Menton Scholarship Fund through the Knights of Columbus Council #11721, C/O St Ann’s Parish, 806 N. Washington St., Kaufman, TX 71542.
