John Weston Riordan, 74, passed away on September 27, 2018 at the Morristown Medical Center after courageous battle with cancer. John was born on September 2, 1944 in Orlando Florida to the late Dr. John P. Riordan and the late Dr. Elaine Weston Riordan. He grew up in Kearny, lived in Florham Park before settling in Succasunna 25 years ago.
John served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Rutgers University. He worked in various companies and corporations in the credit field before taking up a successful career in real estate. John worked for Platinum Realty in Succasunna and Weichert Realty in Randolph as a real estate agent and broker. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Succasunna where he served as a council member and a member of the property and maintenance committee. His hobbies included working on numerous projects around the house and target practice at RTSP. He also enjoyed reading.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Campbell Riordan, his loving sons, John Jr. and his wife Marion of Mt. Airy, MD and Matthew and his wife Kathleen of Florham Park, his six cherished grandchildren, Annelise, Marielle, Luke, Madelyn, Lily and Benjamin.
John Life Celebration will include a visitation on Sunday September 30, 2018 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at the at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. There will be a private service and burial on Monday for family and close friends.
