Kathleen Frances Suler (Kitty), 68, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on October 25, 2018 at St. Clare’s Hospice in Dover, NJ surrounded by her family. Kitty was born on July 28, 1950 in Paterson, NJ to the late David and Jane Van Syckel. She lived in Piscataway, NJ and Flanders, NJ before moving to Long Valley in 1983. Kitty was a Sales Manager for Porsche-Audi and the first woman ever to win the prestigious Worldwide salesperson of the year in a career that spanned several decades. She was an active outdoorsperson, enjoying golf, fishing, boating, birding, and hiking. Kitty was an avid fountain pen collector and audiophile, enjoying all types of music and had a spirit like no other. Her greatest joy and source of pride in life was spending time with her family. She was a woman of faith, and was selfless in giving of herself to friends, family, and those in need.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Dennis Suler; two devoted sons, Dennis Suler, Jr. and wife Jennie, and Patrick Suler and partner Katy Hewett; four cherished grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Erin, and Abby; brother, William Van Syckel and wife Dyanne; and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her brother David Van Syckel.
Kitty’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Monday October 29, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 11:30am at Our Lady of the Mountain RC Church in Long Valley. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery.
