John "Jack" F. Duffy, 85, of Flanders, NJ passed away on Wednesday October 31, 2018 in Parsippany, NJ. Jack was born on March 28, 1933 in Orange, NJ to the late John and Margaret Duffy. He lived in West Orange, NJ before moving to Flanders in 1966. Jack served in the US Army during the Korean War and later enjoyed going to the dances hosted by the local American Legions. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in business management from Seton Hall University. He worked as a senior accountant for Singer Kearfott in Little Falls, NJ for over 30 years before retiring in 1995. Jack was a softball umpire, bartender at the old Kiernan's Irish Pub in Flanders, and member of the Mt. Olive Seniors.
He is survived by his four devoted children, Teri Paterno and husband Joe, Fran Wydila and husband John, Andy Duffy, and Thomas Duffy; four loving grandchildren, Sheree, Andrew, Veronica, and Joe; and by one cherished great-grandson, Ayden. He was predeceased by wife, Vera; sons, John and James; and sister, Margaret.
Jack's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10:30am – 11:30am at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00pm at St. Lawrence RC Church in Chester. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery in Long Valley, NJ.
