Nicolena "Nicki" Ott, 71, of Long Valley, NJ passed away suddenly on Sunday June 2, 2019 at Hackettstown Medical Center. Nicolena was born on November 25, 1947 in Gloversville, NY to the late Nicholas and Florence Rose. She attended Mt. Carmel Catholic grade school in New York, and later graduated from West Morris Central High School in 1965. She worked as a Purchasing Agent for Aventis Pharmaceutical Inc. in Somerville, NJ for many years. Nicki was a member of the Long Valley Ladies Auxiliary Fire Department, and Chester American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Luke Parish in Long Valley. She enjoyed the beach and spending time down in South Carolina. One of her passions in life was making quilts for veterans as a volunteer for Quilts of Valor. Nicki hand sewed hundreds of quilts for our country's finest veterans. She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Donald A. Ott; two devoted children, Patty Burd and her husband Scott, and Chuck McDade and partner Billie Sozanski; four loving grandchildren, Scott Burd, Jr. and his partner Nicole Lombardo, Amanda McDade, Avery Sozanski, and Ashton Sozanski; one cherished great-grandson, Jacob Lombardo; and by many other loving family members and friends. Nicki's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday June 6, 2019 from 4PM – 8PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday June 7, 2018 at 11AM at St. Luke Parish in Long Valley. Friends are invited to a gathering from 10AM – 11AM at St. Luke Parish prior to Mass. Interment will follow at German Valley Rural Cemetery in Long Valley.
