John E. Nevola, 76, of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away on Friday January 24, 2020 at Morristown Medical Center. John was born on July 27, 1943 in New York, NY to the late Edward and Alfonsa Nevola. A resident of Mt. Arlington, NJ for the past 6 years, he previously lived in Mt. Olive Twp. where he raised his family. John was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a Patriot, history enthusiast, and author of two WWII Fiction novels; The Last Jump, and The Final Flag. John was an Executive at IBM for many years before retiring in 2005. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and New York Islanders. “Family First” was the motto John lived his life by, which was passed down to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Josephine “Joyce” (Criscione) Nevola; four devoted children, Tracy Ricciardulli and husband Michael, Robin Bloom, Crysta Bilow and husband Michael, Jon Nevola and wife Heather; seven cherished grandchildren, Alex, Nicky, Madeline, Joey, Mikey, Ava, and John; brother, Alan Nevola and wife Fran; and by many other loving family members and friends. John’s Life Celebration will include a memorial Mass on Friday January 31, 2020 at 4PM at St. Therese RC Church, 151 Main St., Succasunna, NJ 07876. Interment will be held privately by the family.
