Following the death of her first husband, Carl Schroeder, Clare re-married and moved to Chester NJ where she lived for over 60 years. She was an avid reader and loved to travel with her husband George on annual trips to Antigua and Cape May. Clare and George could frequently be seen dining at many local restaurants with dear friends and family. Clare was known as a loyal friend, a fierce advocate for her husband and children, and a doting and proud grandmother to her 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Although dementia robbed Clare of many of the things she loved to do in the twilight of her life, she never lost her beauty, quick wit, sense of humor, nor her fighting spirit.
