Richard S. “Dick” Wyche of Chester passed away Saturday June 20, 2020 at home. He was 90. A life well lived. Born on October 22, 1929 to the late John and Zita (nee: Shirley) Wyche in Chicago IL, he moved to Bronxville NY when he was 6 years old. A 1948 graduate of Staunton Military Academy in Staunton VA, he attended the University of Illinois from 1948 to 1950. He enlisted in the Navy Seabees and served four years. He then attended Mercer University in Macon GA and graduated in 1957. After graduation, he lived in Merion Station PA where he met his late wife Barbara who he married in 1958. He lived in Chatham from 1968 to 2005. He then lived in Bedminster prior to moving to Chester in 2010. Prior to his retirement, Dick was a salesman with American Chicle Corp., a division of Warner Lambert, in Morris Plains. A Vestry member of the Episcopal Church and Mercer University fraternity Sigma Nu, he was an avid reader who enjoyed collecting lighthouses, history, nature walks and Frank Sinatra music. Beloved husband for 59 years of the late Barbara “Bobbie” (Lyon) Wyche. Devoted father of Deborah Zeller and her husband Richard and Kimberly Wyche and her husband Edward Matthews. Loving grandfather of Trevor, Zachary, Brandon, Reed, Kylie, Rachel, Adam and Arlyn. A private entombment Prayer Service will be in the Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
