Philip James Meyer, 89, of Tewksbury, NJ passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at home. He was born on July 31, 1931 in Paterson, NJ to the late Philip and Sophia C. (Symington) Meyer. Philip proudly served in the United Stated Army during the Korean War. He was a linesman for NJ Bell before retiring on February 15, 1989 after almost 34 years.
A long time resident of Packanack Lake, Wayne, NJ, Philip has been living in Tewksbury for the past year.
Philip was very generous, kind and a simple man. He had a passion for trains. Philip loved his morning walks at Garret Mountain Reservation. He enjoyed experiences and loved to travel, taking trips all over the globe including, Australia, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, and Arizona, to name a few.
He is survived by his devoted and loving daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Paul Zuzik, his grandson, Michael Zuzik and his wife, Ashley, his granddaughter, Amanda Zuzik, his great-granddaugther, Zoe Zuzik, and many special neighbors in Wayne that were like family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Meyer in 2002.
All services will be held privately by Philip's family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tewksbury First Aid Squad or Hunterdon Hospice.
