Adam Norris, 47, of Budd Lake, NJ passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Born on November 25, 1973 in Denville, NJ, he spent most of his life there before moving to Mount Olive in 2003.
His career in law enforcement began after he graduated college, when he worked at the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center. Working there helped solidify his desire to pursue a lifelong career as a police officer. After graduating from the Morris County Police Academy in 2001, Adam began his tenure with the Millburn Police Department, where he proudly served for 20 years. During his time with the department, he was promoted to Sergeant and in 2020, he was promoted to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Norris was the commander of the Millburn Police Emergency Services Unit. He was also an instrumental part of the crash investigation team and a firearms instructor. His calm demeanor, extensive knowledge of the law and desire to truly help his community made him the perfect officer.
Adam enjoyed watching all sports, and was a lifelong New York Jets fan. He was a season ticket holder and loved tailgating with friends before and after home games. Adam was an avid reader, and gravitated towards anything history related. He was also a music lover and loved sharing his love of music with friends and family. Spending time with his family was most important to Adam, and he was the driving force behind making sure his children had many memories of trips to the beach and to Disney World. But he most loved to stay home with his family, float in the pool and end the day sitting by the fire pit, talking and listening to music.
Adam is survived by his wife of 17 years, Janine Norris, his children, Abigail, MaryCatherine, and Stephen Norris, his sisters, Kerra Corio and husband Brian, Elizabeth Norris, his stepfather, Greg Lusardi, his best friend and brother in every sense of the word, Michael Elko, his mother and father-in-law, Catherine and Stephen Natafalusy, sisters-in-law, Rebecca and Michelle Natafalusy, his father, Richard Norris and wife Debby, sisters Jessy Brandstetter, Mandy Fink, and Rikki Norris and countless aunts, uncles and cousins who all adored him. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Debbie Lusardi. He is also survived by those he was so proud to stand and work beside, his brothers and sisters in blue from the Millburn Police Department.
