Theresa L. Farina (nee Melillo), 93, of Paragon Village in Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on February 24, 2021. Theresa was born on June 21, 1927 in Bloomfield, NJ where she grew up. She met her future husband, Victor Farina, while he was delivering wine to their home. They married on April 4, 1948 and raised 2 daughters being very active in the Catholic Church. She worked as an office manager for Oxford Research in Clifton and he was a banker. Theresa loved the beach and they vacationed at the Jersey Shore always bringing the family dog. Theresa was an officer of the Republican Club in Lanoka Harbor, NJ where she lived for many years. She and her husband loved their time together at the Paragon Village over the past 11 years, especially when their 4 grandchildren came visit. This coming April would have been their 73rd wedding anniversary.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Victor, her daughters, Roxanne Farina and husband Steven Leibowitz, and Donna Altamura and husband Frank, her grandchildren, Jamie Richards, Craig Seidenschwarz, Victoria Altamura, and Daniel Altamura, and her niece and goddaughter, Jacqueline Melillo. She was predeceased by her brother, Gerard Melillo.
Theresa’s Life Celebration will include a visitation from 1pm to 4:30pm with a Catholic funeral service at 4:00pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. Interment will be held privately by the family.
