Michael Connolly, 95, recently of Mendham, New Jersey passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021. He was surrounded by family at home. Mick was born on February 2, 1926 in Monaghan, Ireland to the late Patrick Connolly and Elizabeth (McCardle) Connolly. He moved to the United States as a young man, and he worked for the New York Times as a pressman. As a parishioner of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Chester, he was a man of great faith. He could often be seen at daily mass or praying the rosary. Anytime he could help someone in need he was there without hesitation. Mick enjoyed spending winters in Florida where he was always out walking or biking. He was very proud of his Irish heritage.
He is survived by his three brothers: Owen, James, and Hugh, and by many nieces and nephews both in the U.S. and in Ireland. He was predeceased by his sisters Anne, Mary, Kathleen, and Elizabeth, as well as his brothers Peter, John, Patrick, and Brian.
Mick will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, New Jersey. The family will hold a private committal service led by a close family friend Msgr. Kevin Flanigan with a funeral mass to follow on April 24th.
