George Nicholas Pagano, 87, of Flanders, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday April 16th, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. George was born on December 4, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to the later Pete Pagano and Rose (Garofalo) Pagano.
George was a proud Brooklyn boy through and through. He was an avid baseball fan who loved the Brooklyn Dodgers, especially his favorite player, First Baseman, #14, the late great Gil Hodges. George was drafted into the US ARMY, serving his country actively from 1956-1958, and in the reserves until 1962. He had a gift of working with his hands. He made a career out of bookbinding and was a skilled carpenter on the side. George was an extremely organized and attentive person who was always working on a project or tinkering around the house, and by the end of the long day he would wind down by enjoying a Gin and 7UP with Frank Sinatra calmly playing in the background. He was the ultimate friend. George had a way with people and was a good judge of someone’s character. He was everyone’s go to guy and anything he could do to help people in need, he was right there saying “if you need something…. check with me first!”
George is survived by his three devoted children, Roseann DelGandio and her husband Christopher, Lisa Parks, and George Pagano and his wife Denise; seven cherished grandchildren, Samantha (husband Andy), Sabrina, Steven, Lina (fiancé Zach), Nicolette,Danielle, and Ava; loving sister, Rosalie Signa; and by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins, who he was like a father figure to. He was preceded by his beloved wife, Angelina “Ginger” (D’Angelo) Pagano; and by his brother, Pat Pagano.
