Charles Anthony Lipscomb

Charles Anthony Lipscomb, 81, of Budd Lake, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday April 17th, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. Charles was born on March 7th, 1940 in Sparrows Point, MD to the late Charles and Leona (Irons) Lipscomb.

Loving husband of 49 years to Carol (nee Veglia) Lipscomb, survived by his son Eric and daughter-in-law Rachael (Jasienski) Lipscomb, his sisters Virginia Lipscomb and Nancy Ginn, his sisters-in-law Patricia Veglia, Diana (Veglia) Rodriquez and husband Celso, and his nephew Kevin Skoch and his wife, Debra, and their children Aidan and Brady.

Charles attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, after which he worked for 35 years for AT&T in their Telegraph, Long Lines, and TCSC divisions before retiring to then work for Boy Scouts of America Patriot's Path Council. He was a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish in Budd Lake, and was active in various areas of service in the parish. He was a member and worthy past financial secretary of Knights of Columbus Council 6100 and had volunteered with Cub Scout Pack 249 and Boy Scot Troop 249, acting as the chartered organization representative. He was a committed fan of the New York Mets and New York Giants.

Charles's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday April 22, 2021 from 4pm-8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday April 23, 2021 at 11am St. Jude Thaddeus Church in Budd Lake. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
