Obituary of Barbara Kimpland
Barbara B. Kimpland, 72, of Long Valley, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Barbara was born to Ed and Frances Burns on October 11, 1945 in Rochester, NY. She has lived in the Long Valley area for over 50 years. Barbara was a cashier at CVS Pharmacy in Chester, NJ and Stanhope, NJ for over 27 years. She took great pride in her work and loved interacting with her customers.
Barbara simply loved life. She was always happy to be spending time with her family and friends. She only had kind words to say about anyone who crossed her path and was generous with her time and friendship. Barbara enjoyed socializing, including grabbing coffee with her Parker Acers girlfriends, grabbing meals with friends, and shopping. Barbara was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and embraced being part of the church community. Barbara appreciated spending time in Sodus Point with her family. She had a love for children and was able to make any child smile. Barbara adored her 8 grandchildren; attending all of their activities and loving them with her whole heart.
Barbara is survived by her children, Bob Kimpland and wife Tracy, T.R. Kimpland and wife Kathy, and Cindy LaBar and husband Garrett, her grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Max, Olivia, Thomas, Ciana, Hannah, Jack and Benjamin, her former husband and friend, Tom Kimpland, her sister, Ann Poe and husband Dale, and her sister-in-law, Windy Burns. She was predeceased by her sister, Betty Hopkins and her husband Curt, and her brother Edward Burns. Barbara is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and gran-nephews.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will include a memorial gathering from 4pm to 8pm, on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. An 11 am memorial service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Trinity Methodist Church in Hackettstown, NJ. Final interment will be in Lyons, NY at a later date. It was important to Barbara that her life be celebrated so please consider a splash of color in your attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial donations may be made to P.G. Chambers School, 15 Halko Drive, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. Barbara's granddaughter, Hannah, has been fortunate to attend this school for the last 8 years.
