Obituary of Collin Brill
Collin Lee Brill, 53, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on May 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Collin was born on February 14, 1965 in Jersey City, NJ to the late David and Jean Brill. He lived in Metuchen, NJ and Hopatcong, NJ before moving to Long Valley 14 years ago. Collin worked as a social worker focused on Child Advocacy and Child Welfare. He loved reading, maps, music - especially the Beatles, playing the drums, hiking, being surrounded by his loving family, and telling corny jokes. He will always be remembered for his clever and elaborate pranks, and extraordinary sense of humor.
Collin is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Catherine (Jones) Brill; devoted daughter, Emily Scheffler and her husband Thomas; cherished grandson, Byram; sister, Colleen Esposito and husband Keith; in-laws, Larry and Margaret Jones; step mother, Fran Brill, many nieces and nephews, countless other loving family members and friends and his two puppies Lincoln and Franklin.
Collin’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Thursday May 17 from 4pm – 7:30pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Service will begin immediately at 7:30pm at the Funeral Home and will conclude all services. Interment will be held privately by Collin’s family.
