Obituary of Rosemarie Yurkanin

Devoted mother, longtime resident of Long Valley and formerly of Belleville


Rosemarie Yurkanin (nee Veneziano), 82, of Long Valley, NJ formerly of Belleville entered into eternal rest on May 23, 2018.  Rosemarie was a Long Valley resident for over 50 years.  She graduated from Berkeley Secretarial School and was VP of Temperature Controls.

Rosemarie was an exceptional cook and loved creating and preparing meals   for friends and family. After many years of her son Michael requesting her recipes to cherish, she most recently penned  her own cookbook.   She enjoyed hosting many holiday parties throughout the years, however 4th of July was extra special. She enjoyed spending summers in LBI and winters skiing in Mt. Snow Vermont.  She was an avid NY Yankees and Washington Redskins fan.  Rosemarie liked her arts and crafts and loved listening and going to the opera. 

Rosemarie is survived by her sons, Robert Yurkanin, Jr. and Michael Yurkanin, her grandchildren, Bobby and Jennifer, her brother, Gerald, her sisters-in-law, Vilma Veneziano and Irene Veneziano, and by many loving nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2012, brother, Anthony Veneziano, sister, Joanne Costentino, brother-in-law Joseph Costentino, brother-in-law, Daniel Yurkanin, and sisters-in-law, Irene Mazzeo and Madeline Popovich.

A Celebration of Rosemarie’s Life will include a visitation from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090.  An 11am funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Our Lady of the Mountain Church in Long Valley, NJ.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at
