Obituary of Robert Scarpone

Robert Scarpone, 82, of White Twp., NJ passed away on June 24, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on June 24, 1936 in Newark, NJ to the late Daniel and Gertrude Scarpone. He dedicated his life to serving others as a Marine Corps Veteran, retired Newark Police Officer, and retired US Court Security Officer for the US Marshals Service. He was member of the National Rifle Association, Fraternal Order of Police, and parishioner of St. Patrick’s RC Church in Belvidere.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Geraldine Scarpone; four children, Robert Scarpone and wife Donna, Michael Scarpone and wife Carole, Patrice Scarpone Rine and husband David, and Donna Scarpone Santos and husband Jack; nine grandchildren, Jessica Rine, Nicole Rinker and her husband Michael, Michael Rine, Michael Scarpone, Jack Scarpone Santos, Stephanie Scarpone Santos, Melissa Scarpone, Robert Scarpone and Daniel Scarpone; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Michael, and Daphne Lorraine; and by many other loving family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Daniel Scarpone, Rose Scarpone Stopero, Jean Scarpone Volpe, Joseph Scarpone, and Claire Scarpone Zarra.

Robert’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday June 27, 2018 from 4PM – 8PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday June 28, 2018 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Mountain RC Parish in Long Valley, NJ. Interment will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, NJ.
