Obituary of Andrew Bittman
Andrew “Andy” V. Bittman, 57, of Far Hills, NJ passed away on Sunday July 8, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. Andrew was born on September 26, 1960 in Hackensack, NJ to the late Carl L. Bittman and the late Angelina (Bassani) Bittman. He lived in Chester, NJ for 17 years before moving to Far Hills 5 years ago. He is the president of Vision Creative Group in Morris Plains, NJ, a highly successful ad agency he founded 30 years ago. Above all, Andy loved being with his family and making them laugh, which he continued to do through his illness. He loved to travel with his family, especially to beach destinations, and he always made time for his daily run. Andy had a gift for creating relationships with people in all walks of life. He loved to bring out the best in everyone and make them happy every chance he got. His unwavering love for his family and positive outlook on life throughout his battle with pancreatic cancer has been an inspiration to all. He will truly be missed.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Sharon J. (Petry) Bittman; two loving children, Samantha Bittman, and Riley Bittman; brother, Carl J. Bittman and wife Rosie; sister, Barbara Horr; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barry and Jessica Petry; brother-in-law Kevin Petry and wife Kristin; several nieces and nephews; and by many other loving family members and friends.
Andy’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday July 11 from 4pm – 8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 12 at 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
True to Andy’s spirit, he was passionate about two organizations that help people in need – Mercy Ships (mercyships.org) which provides medical assistance around the world to those in need and Fisher House Foundation (fisherhouse.org) that supports military families. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either of these worthy charities.
