Obituary of Louis Galli

Louis A. Galli, "Lou", 73, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on July 15, 2018 at the Merry Heart Health Care Center in Succasunna, NJ.  Lou was born in Jersey City to the late Thomas and Theresa (Cutola) Galli.  He grew up in Lyndhurst and lived in Flanders before moving to Long Valley 40 years ago.

Lou earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Pace University.  He was a product line manager for Westinghouse / Schindler Elevator in Morristown.  

His hobbies included:  listening to Doo-wop music, watching classic movies, gardening and photography.  He especially enjoyed taking pictures of his grandchildren.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the NY Yankees and NY Giants, and he also coached baseball for over 30 years.  Most important, Lou was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed family and holiday traditions.

Lou is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Ann (Orefice) Galli and his three loving children, Lou Galli and his wife, Sandra; Mary Ann Spagnuolo and her husband, Carmen; and Tresa Lau and her husband, Jeffrey.  He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Nick, Katy and Elizabeth Galli and Emma, Joseph, Luke and Dominic Spagnuolo; his dear sister Jennifer Hoppe and her husband, Jim; as well as many family members and friends.

Lou’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 4PM-8PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Route 206), Chester, NJ 07930.  There will be a Funeral Service on Thursday July 19, 2018 at 10:30AM at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown.
