Obituary of Sheila Amrich

Sheila Watson Amrich, 64, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on August 19 after battling cancer for over seven years. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 25 at William J. Leber Funeral Home located at 15 Furnace Road in Chester, NJ from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a memorial service to follow immediately at 4:00 pm. Her family will be hosting a reception at the Taphouse Grille at 1930 State Route 57 in Hackettstown, NJ at 6:00 pm following the memorial service.

Sheila was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Robert Watson and Jean Munro Watson on January 6, 1954. She graduated from Linden High School in 1972, then went on to earn a degree in Home Economics from the College of Saint Elizabeth in 1976. Sheila worked for many years as a registered dietician, specializing in helping diabetic patients. She later enjoyed working as a substitute teacher and had a particular fondness for working with special education students. Sheila loved cooking, throwing parties, and spending time with her family and her dog Jade. Everyone who met Sheila knew her to be an incredibly warm and positive person with a boundless enthusiasm for life.

Sheila is survived by her husband George Amrich, son Robert Amrich and daughter in law Meredith Meisenheimer, her brothers in law Steven O’Connell and John Amrich, her sister in law Elsie Mangeri, and her niece and nephews: David O’Connell and his wife Lexie Adorno and their children Liam, Kate, and Eiley, Christopher Amrich and his wife Megan Amrich and their son James, John Mangeri and his fiancée Elizabeth Easton, and Lauren Mangeri. Sheila was predeceased by her nephew Matthew O’Connell, sister Eleanor O’Connell, sister in law Nancy Amrich, and brother in law Michael Mangeri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or to the American Cancer Society. (see link on left)
