Obituary of Georgette Vizzini
Georgette A. Vizzini, age 74, of Flanders, New Jersey passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a sudden and acute illness.
Georgette was born on November 10, 1944 in Astoria, New York and grew up in Flushing, New York. Georgette has lived in Flanders since 1980, and previously lived in Pleasantville and Mount Kisco, New York.
Georgette earned a math degree from Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York. She worked as a Business Manager for AT&T and prior to that she worked for N.A.S.A. on the Apollo Moon Missions.
Georgette loved art and painted / drew many beautiful pieces. She enjoyed reading family based novels, getting together with her friends, family and spending time with her grandson. Georgette was active parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and previously sang in the choir at St. Lawrence Church located in Chester. She also liked knitting and was a member of the knitting ministry at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Georgette is survived by her son, Tyson Vizzini and his wife Cindy Reinhardt-Vizzini, her grandson Vittorio Vizzini, her siblings, Kathy D'Introno and husband Joe, John Pilkington and wife Annabelle, Regina Pilkington, and Bryan Pilkington and wife Ana Maria, and many nieces / nephews, extended family members and close friends. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Catherine Pilkington, and her ex-husband, Thomas Vizzini.
A Celebration of Georgette's Life will include a visitation from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 10am funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 11 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 61 Main St, Flanders, NJ 07836. Interment will follow at
Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate or to the American Cancer Society, https://donate3.cancer.org/
