Obituary of Henry "Hank" Edward Heintjes

Henry "Hank" Edward Heintjes, 84, of Tewksbury, NJ passed away on Friday March 22, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. Hank was born on June 17, 1934 in Kearny, NJ to the late Joseph Heintjes and Margaret (Carvey) Heintjes. He lived in Carteret, NJ and Long Valley, NJ before moving to Tewksbury 19 years ago. He graduated from Seton Hall University after serving two years in the US Army. Hank was an active parishioner of St. Luke Parish in Long Valley and 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a hard-working man, and an avid New York Yankees fan. Hank's passion in life was his love and devotion to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61years Barbara (Walker) Heintjes; eight daughters, Charlotte Heintjes, Peggy Mulvey and her husband Sean, Barbara McHale and her husband Jerome, Audrey Funderburk and her husband Erik, Ann Zevallos and her husband Ivan, Alison Gilbert and her husband Ronald, Valerie DeCleene and her husband Mark, and Vanessa Wolsky and her husband Andrew; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and by other loving family members and friends.

Hank's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Sunday March 24, 2019 from 2pm-5pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 25, 2019 at 10:30am at St. Luke Parish in Long Valley. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
