Obituary of Myra Elizabeth Sedlak

Myra Elizabeth (Dieguez) Sedlak, 55, of Green Twp., NJ passed away on Friday May 17, 2019 at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ. Myra was born on October 28, 1963 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Genaro Dieguez and the late Adelfa (Orozco) Dieguez. She moved to the United States at the age of 12 and grew up in Elizabeth, NJ, and later lived in Flanders, NJ, before moving to Green Twp. 19 years ago. She was a skilled IT Security Analyst, and most recently worked as the Senior IT Security Analyst for Voya Financial. Myra loved physical fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. She enjoyed, yoga, Zumba, walking, and working out. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to destinations such as Paris, Puerto Rico, and Arizona. Her passion in life was her family, most importantly making the most of every day with her best friend and husband, Jim, and cherished daughter, Elizabeth.

Myra is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, James A. Sedlak; loving daughter, Elizabeth Rose Sedlak; father, Genaro Dieguez; five siblings, Gilda Melchionna and husband Carmen, Sylvia Ramirez and husband Manuel, Sonia Salermo and husband Evelio, Mario Dieguez and wife Yolanda, and Edward Dieguez and wife Lisa; and by many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Adelfa (Orozco) Dieguez.

Myra's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday May 22, 2019 from 4:00PM – 8:30PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday May 23, 2019 at 1:00PM St. Luke Parish in Long Valley, NJ. Interment will be held privately.
