Obituary of Lourianey Gillette
Lourianey E. (Hunter) Gillette, 94, passed away on June 11, 2019 at her daughter's home in Flanders, NJ, surrounded by family. Lourianey was born on December 31, 1924 in Puerto Castillo, Honduras to the late Walter and Elsa Hunter. She lived in Belize, Brooklyn, NY, and Orlando, FL, before moving to Flanders 9 years ago. Family was everything to Lourianey. She was a loving mother, and was especially devoted to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her passion in life was being the caring Matriarch of her family. She was also a woman closely attached to her Catholic Faith.
Lourianey is survived by her eight children, Delverine Massiah, Marie Gillette, Edmund Gillette, Jr. and wife Stella, Robert Gillette and wife Lizana, Pauline Miller and husband Anthony, Melinda Humphrey and husband Stephen, Roger Gillette and wife Marguerite, and Rupert Gillette and wife Margaret; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; and by many other loving family members and friends.
Lourianey's Life Celebration will include a visiting on Sunday June 16, 2019 from 1PM-5PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 17, 2019 at 10AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church in Flanders, NJ. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
