Obituary of Dolores Loftus
Dolores "Laurie" Loftus, 84, died peacefully on December 9, 2019. She was born on January 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. Laurie married her High School sweetheart, Vincent "Vinny" Loftus, and in June of 2019 they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. She was the matriarch of the Loftus Family, the mother of three children Cathy, Brian and Tracey and the "Mimi" to seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
We will miss this magnificent wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a kindhearted woman, who loved life, was head strong and would comfort those in need, with a cup of tea, a warm hug or a good meal. Her religion was a cherished part of her life and she was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Flanders, NJ and spent many hours volunteering with The Hermits of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Chester, NJ. Laurie worked many years as a nurse and was always a dedicated, compassionate caregiver. She loved people and she always went out of her way to let you know you mattered. Most important, she was our Mimi, and we are so very proud to be her children, her grandchildren, and to be part of an amazing legacy. She will always be in our hearts.
All services will be handled privately by Laurie's family.
