Obituary of Vilma "Vicki" Ianni

Vilma "Vicki" Ianni, formerly of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. Vicki was born to the late William and Rose Brune on July 18, 1929 and grew up in Newark, NJ. She has lived in Hackettstown for over 20 years and previously lived in Bloomfield, NJ. Vicki worked at numerous places over her career including as a receptionist for General Plastics and a Clerical Assistant for Lipton's Department Store in Bloomfield. Vicki had many hobbies including bowling and shopping. She was a huge NY Yankee fan and faithfully would watch every game. Vicki also enjoyed playing the slots at the casino and taking trips to Atlantic City and Pennsylvania. She loved getting together with her family, and took pride in planning and celebrating Christmas Eve, where she would cook a huge meal of traditional fish dishes. Most importantly, Vicki was an amazing mother, and raised her two sons as a single mother for most of their life. Vicki is survived by her sons, John "Jack" and his wife Linda, and James "Jimmy", her daughter-in-law, Lidia, her grandchildren, Jason, Erica, Gianna, and Jimmy, her great-grandchildren, Jonah, Crosby, Carina, and Morgan, her siblings, Carol and husband Vinnie Perna, and Lillian DiFiglia, her Aunt Ann Casale, her cousins, many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, numerous friends, especially Betty and Annie, and her aides who were like family and cared for Vicki over the years, Hope, Loretta, Carmen, Monique, Beth and Robyn. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerardo Ianni, sister, Rosalyn Stefanelli, and her brothers, William Brune "Junior", and Gerald Brune. A Celebration of Vicki's Life will include a visitation on Thursday February 20, 2020 from 3PM - 7PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 10AM funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday February 21, 2020 at the Church of the Assumption in Morristown, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, Second Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540 or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree St., NE Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309.
