Obituary of Bill G. Hayse

Bill Gene Hayse, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday April 20, 2020 at Merry Heart Nursing home in Succasunna where he has lived the last five years and was beloved by the entire staff. Bill was born on September 20, 1925 in Benton, IL to the late Frank and Vada (Fisher) Hayse. He loved and adored his older brother Jack Hayse, a WWII and Korean War veteran. He graduated from Benton High School and received a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University, before earning a master's degree from the Chicago Teachers College. Bill was the Administrator of the Industrial Arts Department for Thornton Twp. High School in Harvey, IL for many years before retiring in the early 1980s. After his retirement, Bill found a passion as a stained-glass artist. In his free time, he would love to go fishing and spend time with family. He is survived by his caring daughter, Michelle Hey and her husband David of Chester, NJ; four loving grandchildren, Tori Hey and Nathan Hey of Chester, David Lemmel and his wife Elham Novin-Baheran of Lompoc, CA, and Jonathon Lemmel of Oklahoma City, OK; four cherished great-grandsons, Reza, Arman, Kayvon, and Ashton; daughter-in-law, Linda Hayse of Bella Vista, AR; and by many other loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years Irene (Wojcik) Hayse; and by his two devoted children, Karen Hayse, and Michael Hayse. Services for Bill will be held privately by his immediate family. Entombment will also take place privately at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, IL where he will be laid to rest with the love of his life, Irene.
