Obituary of Harry Howe Bond

Harry Howe Bond, 71, of Flanders, NJ passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. Harry was born on April 22, 1949 in Boston, Ma. He grew up in Valley Stream, NY and Rockville Center, NY and has lived in Flanders for the past 25 years. Harry was a Network Specialist for AT&T for many years before working for the Flanders Post Office. Harry was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Harry enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, especially Poker, Hearts and Spades. He loved fishing and being on the water, and had great memories spending time on Shelter Island. Harry was a fan of watching all sports and coached his children growing up. He also loved to party, dance, and collecting stamps. Most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his family. Harry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Danette Bond (nee Haggart), his children, Carly and Danny Bond, and Harry Bond, his grandchildren, Harry, Edward and William, his siblings, Richard and wife Alex, Nancy and husband Mike, Julie, Pam, Tom, and Deidre and husband Joe, his goddaughter Shannon, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Opal. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary, and his brother-in-law, Jay. A Celebration of Harry†™s Life will include a visitation from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. Due to the current health crisis, only 50 people are allowed in the building at one time therefore we kindly ask guests to pay your respects and be mindful of the time to give others an opportunity to do the same. Please dress warm in the event that you may have to wait outside. Face masks are always required to be worn inside the building. An 11:30am funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 5, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Flanders, NJ. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
