The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Martha. Some of her fondest memories involved spending time with her family during holidays, birthdays and most especially on the annual family beach vacation. In Long Valley, Martha enjoyed morning dog walks over to Schooleys Mountain Park and always looked forward to summer dinners on the deck with fresh picked Jersey corn. She was a baker and soup-maker, concocting her own creations that became family favorites. Martha took great pleasure in reading, and once retired, she enjoyed participating and spending time with her friends in her two book clubs. Martha enjoyed drawing and doing crafts with her grandchildren, and always took time to support them at their sporting and school events.

In her community in Chester, Martha was an active member of the Recreation Committee and served as the Welcomer on the Caring and Newcomers Committee. She also volunteered at the Table of Hope in Morristown as well as for Reach for Recovery in Morris County.
Most important, Martha was known for her kind heart which shined in her close relationships with both her family and friends. Martha always displayed a selflessness, shown in her presence, devotion and unwavering love. Her actions and decisions were always guided by her tremendous heart.
She is survived by her son, Chris Hatch and his wife Lisa, daughter Stephanie Cirone and husband Cono, and her grandchildren Eliza, Charlie, Teddy and Eva, as well as her sister Linda Decker. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 2014.
