Yoshiko Louison

Obituary of Yoshiko Louison

Yoshiko (Ikegami) Louison, 90, of Succasunna, NJ passed away on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. Yoshiko was born on August 19, 1930 in Kyoto, Japan to the late Shinjiro and Misao (Morikawa) Ikegami. While working on a United States Air Force base in Japan, Yoshiko would meet her future husband, a young United States Air Force Airman named “Arne”.  They were married in Japan. Yoshiko gave birth to Mark, then Alan, and they then traveled to America not long before Eric was born. She lived in Ironia, NJ for 28 years before moving to Succasunna 21 years ago. She devoted her life to her family and her church, St. Lawrence Parish in Chester, where she was a parishioner for 50 years. Yoshiko assisted with the Rummage/Barn Sale for 37 years and was a member of the Rosary Society. In 2012, Yoshiko was presented with the Vivere Christus Award by Bishop Serratelli, for her selfless efforts and commitment to St. Lawrence throughout the years.  She was artistic, a talented dancer, pianist, chef and an amazing seamstress. One of her proudest moments was becoming a United States Citizen on December 7, 1995, 50 years to the date of Pearl Harbor. Yoshiko will be remembered most for her devout faith, and as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years Louis Arne Louison; three devoted sons, Mark Louison and his wife Mary, Alan Louison, and Eric Louison and his wife Tamara; eight cherished grandchildren, Noriko, Eric, Todd, Rachel, Michael, Robert, Ryan, and Eric; three loving nieces in Japan, Yuko, Atsuko, and Tomoko; and by many other loving family and friends.
