Obituary of Haroldine E. Eckert
Haroldine E. Eckert, age 82, of Chester, NJ passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
She was born on August 12, 1925 in Weehawken, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Harry and the late Edna (Oswald) Laugel.
Haroldine had been living in Chester since 2004. She was previously from Wichita Kansas, New Orleans and Simi Valley, CA.
Mrs. Eckert was a Registered Nurse. She was a nurse at Wichita State University, Wichita Kansas. She trained at Jersey City Medical Center and was a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corp. She devoted much of her life to supporting her husband's efforts establishing the International Association of Forensic Medicine and pioneering the fields of forensic medicine and sciences. She loved animals, and at times had more pets than most have in a lifetime. She and her husband provided home away from home to Wichita State athletes and international students for their 25 years in Wichita, Kansas.
Pre-Deceased her husband: William G. Eckert M.D., she is survived by her daughter: Mary Ellen Potucek and her husband Kevin of Chester Twp., NJ; her son: William H. Eckert and his wife Anne of New Orleans, LA; her grandchildren: Emily and Morgan Potucek; Harry and Nicholas Eckert ; her sisters: Pansy Schwab and Violet Wachendorf. She was also survived by her pets Sandy and Bubba.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13 from 3:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Rd. Chester, NJ 07931
There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at 9:30am Wednesday, May 14 at St. Lawrence Church, Main Street, Chester, NJ. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview , NJ
