Obituary of Hildegard K. Lang
Hildegard K. Lang passed away peacefully on March 28 with her daughters at her side. She was born on February 8, 1914 in Kiel, Germany to Gustav and Amalie (Goebel) Struck. A caring, kind and active woman, who enjoyed gardening, entertaining and dancing, Hilde was loved by all who had the privilege to meet her. A kindergarten teacher in her native Germany, Hilde moved to Caldwell, NJ with her family in 1952 and soon learned to speak English and to work at Hy's Foodtown as a cashier until her retirement in 1976. She and her husband, Helmut Lang, moved to Cedar Glen Lakes, a retirement community in Whiting, NJ in 1978 and became active members of the Square and Folk Dance Groups. Hilde especially enjoyed her work with the Garden Club, acting as president for several years. After the death of Helmut and her beloved son Hans-Juergen Lang, Hilde moved north to South Windsor, CT. She joined the South Windsor Community Center as an active folk dancer and member of the Red Hat Society, dancing with her group at her 90th birthday party in 2004. Illness brought Hilde to Kimberly Hall in 2006, where the staff lovingly cared for her. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Hilde is survived by daughters: Helga Plemenik of Mt.
