Obituary of Heather M. Walters

Heather MacLean Walters, PhD, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on August 27, 2009. Heather was born in Stanford, Conn. to David C. and Cynthia M. MacLean. She has been living in Long Valley since 2001 and she was previously of Chester. Dr. Walters was an author, lecturer and nutritionist. She was an author of eight books (and a 2003 best seller) including "Age Protection", "The Body Browning Effect" and "Nutritional Warfare," as well as two popular college study guides. She was also an Adjunct Professor of biochemistry and nutrition, and taught at several local colleges including the College of St. Elizabeth and Centenary College. She received her B.A. from Cornell University, her M.S. and M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts and her Ph.D. from Rutgers University. An avid musician, Heather sang with numerous local groups including The Morris Choral Society, Harmonium Choral Society, and the Masterwork Chorale, and was founder of The Notables, a small a cappella group. She served on the Alumnae Advisory Council of the Cornell University Chorus. She was also active in various community organizations including the Chester Environmental Commission, Washington Township Community Events Organization, and Heartworks of Long Valley. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her daughters, Rebecca and Melody, her mother Cynthia Maynard MacLean and her father David C. MacLean, her brothers, David C.
