Obituary of Peter Van Easteren

Peter Van Easteren of Chester, NJ passed away on October 29th, 2010. He was born in East Paterson, NJ, living in the Wayne area for 22 years, before moving to Brick, NJ living off the Barnegat Bay for 13 years, then moving to Chester, NJ in 1997. Leaving his wife, G. Shirley, they were married in 1952. Also leaving four children: John Van Easteren of Chester, NJ, Karen Van Easteren of Cedar Grove, NJ, Susan Clark and her husband Robert of Washington Twp, NJ, Ronald Van Easteren and his wife Beverly of South Lake, TX, Five Grandchildren: Brandon Clark, Caitlin Clark, Michael Clark, Travis Van Easteren and Ethan Van Easteren. He is survived by one sister, Cornelia Cass of Wayne, NJ. Peter enjoyed rebuilding an Oldsmobile Station Wagon, always enjoyed working with wood. Building their first home, later others and refinishing an old farm house in Wayne, NJ, working side by side with his wife Shirley. Peter became a Union Carpenter, Local #124 in 1956, retiring in 1983 receiving a gold life membership card for 50 years of continuous membership. At their home in Brick, NJ he enjoyed fishing and boating. Peter had wanted to live on the water, his dream for years, finally a reality in 1984.
