Obituary of Gilbert Ciresa
Gilbert Ciresa, 88, of Budd Lake, NJ passed away on April 30, 2017 in Hackettstown, NJ. Gilbert was born on December 12, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ. He lived in Alpine, NJ and Long Valley, NJ before moving to Budd Lake 34 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1956. He was a 4th Degree Knight and member of the Father Joseph A. Cassidy Council 6100. Gilbert was an active parishioner at St. Jude in Budd Lake. He was an usher, helped KofC run Friday Bingo, and attended mass weekly. He loved birding, snorkeling, going to the beach, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid golfer, and state champion Horseshoe player.
Gilbert is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Denise Ciresa; her two children Kirsten (Peter), Holly (Heinrich); his five children, Marc (Christine), Peter (Kirsten), Lauren, Suzanne, and Dina (Tim); eight grandchildren, Mark, Solomon, Heinrich, Hans-Martin, Benjamin, Peter, Hailey, and Katherine; and by three great-grandchildren, Carlie, Tyler, and Janelle. He was predeceased by his siblings Oscar and Mildred; and by his son-in-law Kurt.
A Celebration of Gilbert's Life will include a visitation on Thursday, May 4th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 11am funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 5th at St. Jude RC Church in Budd Lake. Interment will be held privately by the family
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Raptor Trust, 1390 White Bridge Road, Millington, NJ 07946.
