Obituary of Ronald Merone

Ronald J. Merone, 70, of Greentown, PA passed away on Sunday May 7, 2017 in Scranton, PA surrounded by his family. Ronald was born October 11, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Budd Lake, NJ for 42 years before moving to Greentown 3 years ago. After receiving his degree in Pharmacy from St. John's University he worked as a Pharmacist, and owned Lakeview Drug & Surgical in Budd Lake for many years.

Ronald was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, parishioner of St. Jude RC Church, a 4th Degree Knight and member of the Father Joseph A. Cassidy Council 6100. His true passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Margaret “Meg” (Kiss) Merone; two children, Jennifer Gilbert and husband Tim, Jonathan Merone and Fiancé Kristin, and her children, Robert and JR Ribbans; his four grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Danielle, Chase, and Autumn; mother, Mary Merone; brother, Richard Merone; aunt, Rose McKenna; cousin, Lorraine McKenna; sister-in-law Linda Merone; nephew, Glenn Merone; and by many other loving family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Merone; brother, Glenn Merone; and by his nephew, Robert Merone.

A Celebration of Ronald’s Life will include a visitation on Wednesday, May 10th from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 11am funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 11th at St. Jude RC Church in Budd Lake. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
